A Message from the PBA
The Pennsylvania Bar Insurance Fund and Trust works with our partner USI Affinity to regularly review the product offerings within the Bar Association Insurance Program to make sure Bar Association members are getting the best possible products and service.
After careful review of the program last year, we decided to introduce a new and improved Lawyers’ Professional Liability program in 2013, with a new endorsed carrier: CNA.
Our selection of CNA was based on the following criteria:
- CNA is a market leader and provides coverage to more than 44,000 law firms in the United States. With more than 50 years of experience, they deliver world class underwriting, dedicated claims and state-of-the-art risk management tools and resources.
- CNA’s willingness to work with us to develop a superior professional liability insurance offering for PBA members that resulted in what we felt was the best package, with comprehensive coverage and policy features that meet the unique requirements of law firms.
- CNA also worked with us to deliver tremendous value for members participating in the program, including:
- Rates designed to be lower than expiring premiums.
- A new 5% Bar Association membership credit. This 5% credit will be applied to your Lawyers' Professional Liability Policy premium for membership in the Pennsylvania Bar Association, on a per attorney basis.
- A 7.5% risk control credit per attorney for two years after taking a qualifying risk management seminar.
I am confident you will find the new association endorsed professional liability offering to be a great value, and a tremendous member benefit. I look forward to your continued particpation in the Pennsylvania Bar Association program.
Sincerely,
Barry Simpson
